We run exercises, but the corrective actions disappear into a report

The same finding appears in three consecutive after-action reports because nobody owned it, nobody was given a date, and nothing verified that it had been done. The exercise proved the plan rather than testing it.

Technology approaches

Corrective action tracking

Carrying an observation through to an owner, a due date, evidence that it was done, and a closure somebody signed.

Before you buy

  • Ask whether an action can be closed without evidence attached.
  • Ask whether findings can be compared across incidents and exercises, because a repeat finding is the most useful thing in the file.

Exercise design and evaluation

Building, running and evaluating exercises against the capabilities they are meant to test.

Before you buy

  • Ask whether it supports evaluating against capability targets rather than against a script.
